Customized Skills Development

Boiler-plate training programs in leadership, interpersonal, and team skills abound. We don’t do them because we don’t believe they work. The managers and teams we train want examples that come from their real-life experiences in their industry. They want case studies and practice sessions they can relate to. They want a trainer who understands their world and its pressures and requirements. The need classes formatted to their group size, their work schedule, and their overall availability. One-size-fits-all approaches do not work for them.

Consequently we work with our clients to design programs that meet their needs. Each client’s program design varies in ways that ensure it reaches the people who need it in a manner that works for them. Here are some samples of our custom workshops:

Building Skills for the 21st Century - A how-to program on team leadership which specifically addresses the statistically weaker leadership competencies of Coaching, Facilitation, and Delegation. This program is customized to the client needs. We incorporate examples and issues from your site and shape objectives to best match our training with your expectations of team leaders.

Coaching Skills for Managers & Mentors - Gain skills, diagnose the needs of your "coachees", and leave prepared to successfully influence the development of others. This highly interactive program offers both training and individual consultation to the small participant-per-instructor group. Customization to your site needs is a given in our planning for this, as it is for all in-house programs.

Educational Series in Team Management - Prepare first-level managers with skills for success. New managers are often unprepared and dissatisfied in their new roles. However, with training in necessary skills, they can become more interested and more invested in their roles as current or future team managers.

The modules in such an Educational Series might include:

·         Team Manager Role and Responsibilities: Building a strong foundation through understanding of the team process and leader's role

·         Delegation Skills: Learning the art and process of transferring responsibilities

·         Coaching Skills: Learning how to empower employees and motivate them to optimal performance

·         Facilitation Skills: Improving the quality and effectiveness of group interaction / meetings

·         Conflict Resolution Skills: Learning the skills and strategies for managing volatile situations

Behavior-based Skills for Organization Effectiveness Interpersonal skills can be taught as modules in a series for employees at any level. Such modules often include:

·         Influencing Skills

·         Resolving Differences

·         Group Participation

·         Situational Responsiveness

·         Listening for Understanding

·         Giving and Receiving Feedback
