Team Leader Skills Inventory

Are you looking for a good way to provide feedback on the leadership behaviors of your team managers? Have you found traditional appraisal tools to be lacking in this focus? If so, the Team Leader Skills Inventory (TLSI) may be the tool you need.

The TLSI provides essential feedback for first level managers in eight areas of team leadership:

bullet

Performance

bullet

Team Development/Orientation

bullet

Interpersonal Skills

bullet

Technical Competence

bullet

Communications Skills

bullet

Problem Solving Skills

bullet

Priority Setting/Organization

bullet

Flexibility & Adaptability

The TLSI has a sound research foundation, using data from Team Manager Development Centers over a 10-year period and trial tests with numerous client companies. Dr. Paul Marciano, who developed this instrument, has given great care to ensure the instrument is psychometrically sound.

The TLSI has multiple uses: for mid-year leadership feedback with team managers and supervisors; for developmental counseling; to set stretch objectives; to supplement traditional appraisal tools.

The TLSI can be completed by different people. In addition to the team leader's direct manager, others can complete the instrument and offer feedback. The team leader can complete it as a self-assessment. There is also merit in receiving feedback from peers and subordinates whose daily interactions have a great impact on the team leaders (360º feedback).

The TLSI is simple to administer. The team leadership areas are measured using 40 brief statements. Total scores are then easily computed by hand and graphed. It takes about 15 minutes in total. No computers, mailing, or waiting required.

The TLSI is cost effective. A package of five forms, including a manual, is only $25 (shipping extra).  Sample TLSI form available upon request. Call or e-mail us to place an order.
